May 26, Stand & Salute

Hello Krazies!

In honor of Memorial Day we are going to revisit one of my first ever projects  Stand & Deliver.

First and foremost I would like to thank the men and women who protect and serve.  This would be our military  Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force & US Coast Guard.  Our Police forces, fire departments & medics nationwide & Abroad.  Our 911 operators, our behind the scenes folks and our true heros.

I personally would like to thank my Uncle Joe Miller - USAF, cousin John Foreste USAF, My ex husband of 20 years, Joe Taylor USCG, My nephews Justin Harris and Robert Crum USCG and Toby Bowden Jr USN.  My personal hero would be my very own husband Allen Wilson, USMC!  I also have many family and friends in the Fire Department & Police Department.  thank you all for your service to our country.

This is my favorite Project so far. From the Stand and Salute Cartridge comes a scrapbook page layout.  Everything worked beautifully except the ribbon. It came out MUCH larger than it should have been so I scaled it down.  Hubby is a former Marine, I'm going to put his dress photo in here.  Oh and the ribbon was supposed to be tinged with brown but I had no brown at the time. So I went out and got one of the ColorBox Petals (oh I love those!) from Michaels with a 40% off coupon.  I probably should fix that ribbon before putting his photo in it and then into a scrapbook huh?

Don't forget - in order to win all the projects on the blog this month, be sure to leave a comment!  Each comment you leave gives you one chance.  Leave comments on the blog and also if there is a coordinating video.

Hugs and Chirps!

  4. I got that Cartridge when my oldest grandson was still in the Marines. To make him some layouts for his scrapbook. I too, would like to thank all the men and women who put themselves in harms way for our freedom. And to their families, who wait... Thank you for your sacrifice too.

Kricut Krazy is back!

Hello everyone!

I've missed you all!  What a crazy summer it has been.  I just kept walking by my craft room and longing to sit down and do something fun.  I've dabbled in things over the summer but no real crafty fun day.  I've been cooking tons of stuff I find on pinterest (surprisingly most has been a huge hit!) I've tried my hand at washer jewelry - and failed (see photos below) but I'll keep trying.

I didn't realize my phone posted a video I took the other day until I started getting you tube comments and emails LOL So here ya go for those that haven't seen it:

Ok a coupla ya asked about the washer jewelry.  I wanted to make them for my daughters. Krystina's would have Ragan Lyn  on the large washer and 3/14/2013 on the small washer with a blue stone for March.  Amanda's would have Julianna Marie on the large washer and 7/3/2013 on the smaller one along with a red stone for July.  Sigh.  Why does everything look SO much better in my head than i…

Scrappin with my Bug Happy Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey Krazies!

My sweet friend Michelle from Scrappin with my Bug is having a birthday!  We're celebrating by gathering a bunch of fun ladies for a big blog hop that is going to run all weekend long. Lots of fun stuff to see along the way and prizes galore!  Be sure you stop at Michelles blog first to wish her a Happy Birthday!

My Project
Happy Birthday Michelle!
Front of the Gate fold card.  I used rub on dots for the top and bottom, 2 buttons to wrap the bakers twine around and cut the flowers from Walk in my garden.  The stamps are misc Birthday stamps and the paper is all DCWV various stacks.  I inked around the flowers with chalk ink (cats eye I think it's called)  Oh and the rub on dot borders are from Stamping Up.  I'm brand new with rubber stamps and will eventually learn how do do it correctly.
Inside of the card.  It's your Day is from Pink Cricut - one of her stamp sets.... sorry don't remember which. Paper is from DCWV and I inked a lil here and there.
