The only one I could find was way out of our price range. So, I made her one. Found the backpack on Amazon for just a few bucks. I used one of the cute graphics from the Hello Kitty Cricut Cartridge.
I also made her a couple shirts. She loved the butterflies. I used the negative to make a second shirt.
Happy new year! I hope 2020 brings you love, happiness and good health.

It’s been a few years and we’ve had many changes. I recently noticed that this blog is getting a handful of traffic, so I figured I’d clean it up bit and try to post more.

I’ve lost all my graphics as the person who designed my blog has disappeared. I sent her a deposit back a few months ago and we never got anything rolling. It’s mostly my fault as I couldn’t figure out what I wanted. I knew I wanted to revamp my blog. So here I am winging it.

First, I have a very good reason for being absent. Here it is:

We’ve been raising our grandbabies for 4 years next month. We are thru the rough parts. They were 17 months and just turning 3 when we got the call. We picked them up immediately and life has not been the same. I lost my amazing craft room as we needed the space for the children. I have no regrets and hope to have a functional room again soon.

I’ll share a few photos of stuff I’ve worked on over the years. Hopefully I can get a few more visitors and see how things go.

Can you share in the comments some projects you’ve been working on? Are you in the middle of the HTV craze? Have you gotten a new machine? I’m hoping for the maker but still using the explore. Et me know what you are up to.

It's been almost 2 years since I posted... YIKES! It's been a little hectic on my end but I have been playing lately and hope tohave more posts.

I'm writing mainly because I noticed that the graphics on my blog has disappeared and I'm looking into why that has happened. I'm also looking into migrating to WordPress.

I've been making a lot of t-shirts lately and will post about them once everything is settled. For those of you that area actually still around - I appreciate it! I hope to bring a fresh new beginning to Kricut Krazy and become super active once again. I've missed you all dearly!

The holidays are creeping up and if we want to be ready we should start <strike>right now,</strike> last month. I've been a little busy myself, reorganizing craft room, relabeling everything with chalkboard labels and I recently got a heat press machine! Nothing fancy, I was advised against it because it was "Cheap" but the way I figure it is I don't want to dump 1000+ on something I may use a total of 100 times tops. (That's pushing it) Here is the one I got World Paper 5-in-1 Multifunction Heat Press 30cmx38cm,8"And 10"Plate,Mug,Cap

Anyway - here are a few things I did recently

My 2yo grand-daughter has 2 sets of grandparents. We are Green Bay Packer fans and her other grandparents are Baltimore Ravens. I was trying to come up with an idea like the "House Divided" shirts and items we see. I'm too timid right now to layer too much vinyl so I wanted simple.

I designed my image in Cricut Design Space and simply printed it onto Print Transfer for light fabrics that I purchased over at My Vinyl Direct Tip for you - READ INSTRUCTIONS FIRST. <insert dramatic eye roll here>

I used the print and cut feature so I wouldn't have any of that gunky film left on the shirt after pressing it. This is my end result:

Isn't it adorable? The reason the "Divided" looks skewed is because it was. The first time I arranged the letters I finally got it right and let out a sigh of relief. No kidding, those letters blew all over the place! 2nd and 3rd time, could not get them centered and level, when I finally managed to get close, the act of closing the lid got air under it and messed them up again. Finally I just went with it. I did not read the directions which is why I messed up the 1st 3 times. Ugh!

A friend saw the project on my personal FB page and contacted me wanting shirts for her sons. One was having a birthday and flying in to surprise the other. I did these with white vinyl from My Vinyl Directand they turned out beautifully. I also did 2 matching mugs with regular vinyl as a thank you for being my very first customer.

This is the exact design my friend wanted. I tried to design it up a little but she wasnt interested. Here are a few things I've learned:

Set your heat press to the correct temperature. If you can't figure out how to change the celcius to farenheit don't guess like I did. Look it up. EEK! I burned the 1st shirt.

Use a Teflon Sheet so you can be sure not to get the adhesive on your heat plates (or on your iron) Even with HTV that has the backing. This helps prevent burning of the vinyl/transfer and protects your Heat Press.

Make sure you press as long as the vinyl or transfer advises you to. Use a timer (I use the one on my iphone because I can't quite figure out the Heat Press timer....yet. I had all the vinyl off one of the shirts come off in the wash EEEK!

Wash your garment inside out the first coupla times. Transfers have to be washed inside out each and every time.

That's about it until next time. Have a great time!

Hugs and Happiness!
Fun toddler shirts.

Hi there! I know it's been awhile but y'all know life gets in the way of crafting way more than it should, there should be a law I tell ya!

Recently I did a complete redo on my craft room, using stuff I already had. It had become a dumping ground and I needed order and calm in order to craft. I'll share some video and photos in the next week give or take. For now let's show you the shirts I made.

I bought a pack of plain white toddler shirts in a 2t last week. I already have a nice selection of heat transfer vinyl and I knew I wanted something bright and cheerful. I'm still in the process of learning my Cricut Explore and so far it is my favorite machine! My crafting buddy Christie came over to check out the craft room redo and helped me with the ironing.

Here is my sweet little Ragan sporting her Bee Happy tee. I used flocked transfer from Vinyl Expressions. It turned out pretty cute. I didn't have flocked skin tones so I mixed and matched. The black and yellow are flocked the skin tone is regular.

Let's talk about lessons learned while making these shirts.

#1. Use flocked or regular. Don't mix them. They look ok, it just isn't seamless like I hoped.

#2. Use custom settings and choose iron on glitter. Works perfect for flocked vinyl.

#3. Make sure every layer is flipped. I didn't realize that when I customized the settings, it did not automatically flip the image. As you can see in the close up, they layers aren't even. Look closely at the second t-shirt with the owl. It's awful.

Sorry I can't recall the cartridge the images were on. Create a critter I think. I have a few other things I'm working on and a craft room redo to share with you the next couple days. I'd love to hear some feedback if there is anyone out there seeing this post LOL.

Hugs & Chirps!

So, my plan was to do a few more projects with the Explore and post at least 3x a week here to share my thoughts and such with you guys.

Instead, on November 1, I went to work. Everything was normal. Suddenly I didn't feel right, I was losing my breath and my ribs felt like they were being crushed. Hubby takes me to the ER where I was admitted and had a FIVE day stay. Acute Kidney Injury. Fun huh? Ugg.

So the only thing I can really share is my view out the window and a coupla meals. But that would bore you.

So, with that said - I'll tell you this. I will get back to the Explore soon and I can't wait. Please don't give up :)

Hugs and Happiness!
Come and see what's new!
Kricut Krazyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01583473563758680598noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3491163114297557065.post-34422833934232980192014-10-31T20:29:00.000-04:002014-10-31T20:29:00.247-04:00Treat bags with my friend KarenI had a procedure on my back on Monday and while it was easier than I thought, it put me behind a few days. I mentioned on FB that I needed to do 50 bags for a staff party on Halloween and I didn't know if I could sit that long yet. So my high school buddy Karen said "I'll come over after work, lets play! True to her word, she showed up and we pounded these out in about 2 hours give or take. That included a dinner break. She was so proud of herself, she has zero cutting experience, machine or otherwise. I was so happy for her. We loaded up 2 bags per Mat and set it for 26 mats. She folded and glued them all.

The frankenstein was for her step-son and was full of m&m's. Our original idea was to make 50 of those. Uhm... NO. Too much glue. So while she assembled bags, I cut the tags for the front. After the bags were assembled I filled them with treats while she ran the lil tags thru the zyron to get glue on them. She was so excited about how easy it was.

Here's some more Frank bags - I did a few of those for the treaters we get this year. Normally only a handful.

Before Karen got here, I decided to play around a bit with the candy bar wraps and this is the result. I did have trouble with the Goblins & Ghouls tag. It kept tearing no matter what kind of paper/card I used. I finally changed the blade and that worked but it was odd because I've only cut Cardstock about a half dozen times.

These candy bar holders are in the Design space project gallery. I already owned the cartridges used so that was not an issue. Next time I would like to make the sides a little larger to hold a Reeses cup or thicker candy bar.

That's it for me. I hope you guys are enjoying the posts.

So, one of the cool new things is the ability to score and cut at the same time. I'm finding myself needing the score ability quite frequently. You should see me trying to hand score something - I'm never 100% accurate.... like ever. So here is the handy dandy score tool by Cricut.

So Yesterday I needed to make about 50 treat bags for a staff party at work on Halloween. The first couple of bags I scored by hand. Oh... bad idea. They were crooked. So I'm eyeballing the score tool holder thingy. I had ordered one via amazon but it wouldn't be in until the next day, Me? Wait? NAH! So I'm looking around my tool drawer and I find this embosser I bought many moons ago to use with Brass Stencils. I put it in and shut the clamp thingy and away we go! Y'all!!!!!!!! It worked. Holy cow it worked. You can see the score mark below. How exciting is that!?

Today I get home from work and my new score tool is waiting for me. Except I left it in the package. For now anyway.

Tell me what you think, has this already been discovered and I've been in the dark? I'm so proud of myself I had to share!

Happy Halloween!

Today I got to play with the Explore for a bit. Of course first I HAD to straighten up my craft area and that took a coons age.

I wanted to do a few Vinyl projects but decided to try another 'free' project. Once I get the hang of this, I'll start doing cricut cartridge projects again except I'll use the explore. Fun Stuff.

I have my back procedure tomorrow, if all goes well I'll play a lil more the next day or two and of course post my results/findings/failures. You know, if it has more than one step, glue, glitter or ink, I WILL screw it up. But every once in a blue moon, I'll get it right LOL.

I went to the project library and chose a cute Thank you card. "Floral Thank you Card" it has a lot of teeny cuts and uses the pen as well so I wanted to see it all come together.

You use the mat twice, once for the bottom layer (just a mat) and the 2nd for the fun cutting and writing. As you can see, I had trouble getting it off the mat. I think my card stock was thinner than normal (just grabbed from my scrap pile). I'm thinking had I chosen "Light Cardstock" and used my spatula, I would have had much better luck. So of course I cleaned it all up and tried again.

This time I did choose the thinner card stock and everything worked out as you can see above. The darker cardstock is the 'mat' which really helps the detail in the cuts pop. All in all not bad, but I did have a few issues to figure out.

1. You are supposed to have a score tool - I have one, but it's for the Expression and I could't figure out how to get the marker holder that was preinstalled to come out. So I skipped it. In doing so, I completely forgot to load the pen, so the "Thank you" you see is actually a stamp from Jaded Blossom. The ink is Stampin up.

2. Glue was an issue. Or perhaps I'm rusty as all get out. I tried a zig glue pen and a stampin up glue pen. If you look closely you can see parts that aren't that great. Also by the time I got thru the vines and leaves, the other side was drying. Boo.

I printed off a great list of markers that can be used in the Explore from www.withglitteringeyes.com I'm hoping to find some on Amazon to play with. Of course I have tons of Zig markers and Fiskars Gel pens. I can't get those to work.

See you next time!

Hugs and Happiness!
Come and see what's new!
Kricut Krazyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01583473563758680598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3491163114297557065.post-26017600175397929182014-10-23T10:46:00.000-04:002014-10-23T10:46:07.621-04:00Cricut Explore - My first impression.Howdy!

So, on Tuesday my Explore arrived. I bought it through Amazon (oh how I love Prime and 2 day shipping)! It arrived exactly 5 minutes before I was leaving for a doctors appointment which bummed me out. I didn't even get to open the box.

After the doctors, hubby and I were having lunch and I broke the news to him. "Babe? Ya know how I asked you if I could drop 300 bucks on something no questions asked and you replied sure?" He says "uh.... what did you do?" Me: I uh, bought the cricut explore. He sat there and shook his head. "You said you'd never give them another dime" you are correct fine sir, I did say that. BUT, I said "I will never spend a dime of YOUR hard earned money on them, I work now, so I spent mine" I won't tell you the conversation that led to LOL. We share an account but I somehow justified it in my head. He's a good man, he supports whatever I do and was just kidding. But seriously, I couldn't spend it back when it was just him working. He comes home dead tired and sore every day and I would have felt horribly guilty.

Ok enough of that dribble, so on to the explore. Later that evening I finally got a chance to take it out of the box. It was VERY well packaged. I was impressed. I put it on the desk and wondered where I should set it up. You guys, my craft area is a disaster. It really needs organized and re thought out - but any of you following me know that it's an annual thing with me. Anyway I plopped it right in the middle of the desk pushing my sewing machine to the side.

Husband jumps in shower. I set up the machine, (easy peasy) and update the firmware. I was already rooting around the Design Space so it logged me right on and I was ready to try it out. I did the card below:

This is one of the 50 'free' projects that you get. There is a video on how to do it, but if you've used cricut you really don't need to watch it. The black card stock, greenish mat and the silver pen all come with your machine. I loaded the project from the design room, it immediately told me how many mats I needed (1 in this case) and had me load the pen. Loaded the mat and away it went. It was super fast and wow it was super quiet. I unloaded the mat, closed out of the program and put my laptop away. Folded the card and was looking at it when hubster came out of the bathroom. I proudly held it up and said "Look what I did in the 15 minutes you were in the shower!" I was impressed. Very impressed.

Things I'm not impressed with at this point but may change after I really get to play with it for awhile:

Projects not being included in the subscription service. Some are 99 cents, others I saw at 10.00, Sometimes you want to just do something quickly and I think the prices are a tad high on a one time projects.

The Mat was bent. (you can see it at the corner of the card on the right side) I sat something heavy on it all night and the bend is still there.

You get an email giving you 25% off at the Cricut Store on any purchase. I filled up the cart with tons of things, added the code and got an error "Doesn't apply with these purchases" Annoying but not really a deal breaker.

Things I AM impressed with so far:

The speed, the quietness and the precision.

The overall design is sleek and handsome

The little compartments for tools

All of my cartridges were already there under "My Sets" - I didn't have to link any of them!

Came with a few materials to get you started.

It comes with a bag, albeit a little cheesy and not really something I'd trust to travel with. I think it would be helpful to come with at least a hook to get a newbie started but I was able to slightly bend the mat and take off the card. I needed my spatula to take the bits off tho.

I'm looking forward to trying out my SVG's and there are a few questions I have and will have to root around for the answers when I have time.

Can we share projects with friends?

How does the Ipad app work? Can I design on the go and hook it up later?

Overall I think Cricut is really stepping up their game. Am I upset about the gypsy not being supported? No, time moves on and so does technology - I never used mine except to store my cartridges. Am I upset that my Imagine is just a shelf I sit my tv on in the craft room? No, I got that for 40 bucks at a Walmart.

What am I going to do with my Expression? Keep it, I love that thing.

Cameo? Keeping it.... for now.

Pazzles? Getting rid of it the first chance I get.

Am I full on Team Cricut now? No. Will I be? Probably.

I'm sorry I've been MIA for almost a year! Loads of stuff happening from a new grand baby to a new job and loads in between.

Tomorrow there is some excitement happening I wanted to share. Y'all know I've kicked Cricut to the Curb and have been using my Cameo. I kept my Imagine (cause you can't give those away these days) and I kept my Expression cause well....it's the best thing that ever happened to me! I made so many friends, traveled, spent too much money and made a little too.

I've been on the fence with trying the new Explore. I've really been struggling with it for the last 6 months give or take.

Tomorrow my Explore and wireless adapter arrive. Thankfully I have the day off as I have to go get a procedure on my back. I hope it's still numb enough for me to play for awhile tomorrow afternoon/evening.

I've pinned a lot, surfed a lot and watched a lot of videos. I've seen friends who swore off Cricut go back to them because of this machine and because of the new direction Customer support has taken. Everyone I talked to feels like they matter, feels like this is truly a good thing. So many so that I have to take the plunge and I think I'm ready.

I've played around in Design space a little the last few days and I'm lovin the 'canvas' choices - they even had my Kitchen Aid Mixer! One of the first things I'm going to slap vinyl on YAY!

Wish me luck! Please leave me a comment and let me know if you've gone with Explorer and what your experiences have been.

I know it has been almost 6 months since my last post and I apologize. I've had a lot happen in that short time, somethings I can share, some not. I'll talk about it in a later post.

Right now I'm excited to share with you my Rhinestone Project. I was a little hesitant to try it out and I certainly didn't want to pay 30 something for the 'kit' Let me share what happened.

A few weeks ago I pounded out almost 50 t-shirts for a fundraiser for my dear friend who was battling colorectal cancer. I got tons of positive feedback on the shirts so I want to make more, dress up some t-shirts I have. The benefit was a massive success, unfortunately Darlene lost her fight on Saturday. I also made tons of kisses and bar wraps for the volunteers and will post about that later as well.

I have a few t-shirts in a basket that I was going to fiddle with 'someday' with vinyl. After the feedback I got from the t-shirts for the fundraiser I just had to try some more t-shirt fun.

I'm rooting around, looking at my vinyl and suddenly remembered I had a rhinestone kit for my Pazzles that I won at a gathering. I took it out and looked it over. Then I looked at a video or two on Youtube and finally figured I'd dive in.

First I selected a design from Silhouette Store a simple flower.
I then took the backing off the foamy rhinestone material that came with the kit and laid it sticky side down on my Cameo Matt.
I cut the design (careful to choose the rhinestone setting) and it came out beautifully.

Now - you are SUPPOSED to use some kind of backing board. I didn't have one. I had the foamy sheet and an iron on sheet. So I improvised. I used a cuttlebug plate for my 'backing sheet' It worked BEAUTIFULLY

I then poured on the rhinestones and slid them into the stencil (foamy material) I only had to flip a few to put them in correctly. The correct way is SHINY side up, glue side down.

Then I took a sheet of the iron on material and cut it a smidge larger. Peeled the backing and laid it on top of the filled in stencil. Then I used my scraper to go over it to make sure the rhinestones adhered to the sheet. (just like you would use for your vinyl projects to smooth out bubbles) Pull the sheet up and waahla! Ready to iron on.

I used my regular iron on the steam setting (with no water inside cause it's the hottest) placed one of my husbands handkerchiefs and ironed it for maybe 30 seconds. Let it cool and peeled. PERFECT.

I absolutely love it. I was thinking things over (I do that once in a while) and decided if a stone or 3 fall off at any time, I can fix it with my I rock. Super simple yes? These rhinestones are 10cc. Research has told me that you want to use 6cc - 10cc for rhinestones that adhere nicely and can stand washing. Apparently larger sizes are more difficult. These are just sample rhinestones I got with my Pazzles Kit (but used with my cameo) and I really like how it turned out. Best part? You can reuse the stencil over and over. Just put the backing back on the sticky side and store. Cause you know, we don't have enough supplies to store (dramatic eye roll).

I recently purchased a big selection of iron on vinyl and now I think I'm going to track down some more of the rhinestones as I am super pleased. Let me know what you think. Have you done any rhinestone projects?

Hugs and Happiness!

Lori Whitlock Silhouette File and super easy! Hey guys! Can you believe it is already December 5th? HOLY MOLY! Did any of you go out in the madness of Black Friday? I did my shopping online and got great deals and did not have to be part of that crazy day or those mad shoppers!

Today I have some Snowman Tic Tac boxes for ya. How adorable are these? The SVG file can be found in the silhouette store. There are super duper cute ones for Red and Green tic tacs as well. But I only have a small box of the white ones. They did have multi packs at our local Costco, but they had orange and I don't want orange!

This is a Lori Whitlock design. Please click on her name to see her blog and the fun stuff's she has (I know most of you are already familiar with her great designs and files) I'm sure she has links to download the files.

These were super easy. I just added a little bit of my own bling to cute it up a bit. I used black gemstones for the eyes and buttons, a cute red bow for the tie (prepackaged, who can tie one that tiny?) and an orange marker for the nose. I will tell you that you must prepare the tic tac box by scraping off most of the sticker on the front. Don't be a goob like me tho, I scratched one of the boxes using my nail. The other 2 boxes I used goo gone so they are nicer. Notice in the photo the eyeballs are silly looking because of the way the tic tacs are laying in the back? I thought that was cute and wanted to point it out.

I've been super distracted all week because this cutie pie has been visiting with her mama all week. Krys promised me she would help assemble stuff in the craft room - that has not happened. She goes home in the morning and I'll play catch up. In the meantime I figured if I showed you guys a photo of a super cute 8 month old you might show me some mercy LOL!

See ya tomorrow with some more holiday happy things!
Here is a quick video showing you my craft room that exploded with to do project supplies! Also I wanted to talk to you about how to do a fun calendar coaster!

First the video!

Now the Calendar Coaster! Or, Coaster Calender if you'd rather!

Aren't these adorable? Last year Michele and or Candace from Jaded Blossom sent me the green Coaster Calendar with an order (pssst.... right now, today 12/30/2013) they are having a big ole stinkin sale, the more you buy, the more you save WOOT! Anyhoo, they sell Coaster Kits which have the blank coasters and dated calendars but alas they are out of them. So, you can order the coasters (or use some from a bar/restaurant or if you are a loosey goosey with the booze, your own stash) from Sky Blue Pink. I bought these a year or two ago and haven't checked the recent prices but I know they were very reasonable. The Calendars, well my best guess would be to google 'mini calendars' or 'mini tear off calendars' or you can even make your own in Word. Just search 'mini calendar template"

So I took down JB's calendar and gave it a look see. I then dug around my stash to find the coasters that I knew I had but did not remember where I put. I gathered up a 12x12 Recollections Christmas pad from Michaels (50% off dontcha know) and grabbed some coordinating scraps from my scrap bins. I initially tried the 1" circle with a 1 1/4" for the bottom layer - way too big. So I went with the 3/4" circle punch and the 1" for the bottom. Better fit I'd say. I used # stamps from Peachy Keen's PK-09 Cheesy Packers set and a teeny bow already tied from who knows where. I placed the coaster (already taped using tape gun) down on the non printed side of a sheet of paper (not card stock, paper works better) and then simply trimmed around it.

I tried in vain to get the banner behind the letters perfect but, it wasn't to be. I used my square punch to cut the lil notches out - but it got shorter and shorter until it wasn't overlapping like the cute one from JB. Oh well I give up. Using pop dots under the calendar year was smart because it really stands out. Have fun, I know you have a huge stash and are itching to play - go to the local bar and ask for coasters (I actually got a stack from the bowling alley snack bar one night before I ordered the plain ones. Oh and don't forget magnets, I used button magnets but I would have rather used my less expensive business card magnets that I have 100 of... somewhere in this room. Please tell me how I can have such an organized room but never remember where I put stuff? OF course I label drawers and cabinets but you can't list every single solitary thing or you'd go nuts.

Today and Tomorrow will be paper craft day. Monday will be sewing screw up day. I promise I'll screw it up because I do not know how to sew! Once I hand sewed a button on a sleeve, and sewed it to the backside so you couldn't poke your hand through LOL!

I have SIX stamp sets to give away - I have to do the drawing of the 12 people who commented a few weeks ago, as soon as someone tells me how to read my darn comments I'll jump on it!

Here is the crazy list of stuff I'm going to tackle in the coming days. Yes, I said DAYS.

Tube Candy (the plastic tubes with candy and toppers)
Tin Candy (Hershey nuggets wrapped in a tin with a window)
Candles (you'll see)
kisses and tons of them (hershey kiss bottoms with cute tags)
Reindeer poop, Snowman Poop, Coal and more with cute toppers
Glass ornaments with a twist
a few sewing projects.

Stay tuned, Christmas 2013 is going to be CRAZY!

Happy Holidays!

Hugs and Happiness!
Come and see what's new!
Kricut Krazyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01583473563758680598noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3491163114297557065.post-8475144919857203862013-11-27T17:03:00.003-05:002013-11-27T17:03:49.723-05:00Happy Happy Thanksgiving! A few cards to shareFirst thing is first: Can someone tell me how in the world I view the comments? They used to just show up, now they are no longer there. If I click on 'comments' it prompts me to leave one. Sigh. I have to get these stamps to winners but first I have to find the winners LOL

I wanted to talk about coupons for a quick second. I buy NOTHING without a coupon/sale and if it's combined I'm in HEAVEN. Yesterday Kohls had a couldn't pass up deal. After coupon code (BLACKFRI), free shipping, a 30 dollar rebate, $60 in Kohls cash AND $14.08 from ebates I was able to snag a Kitchenaid (this one: Stand Mixer) for 79 dollars!! Lets be honest, that's flat out stealing!

Ebates is the bomb diggity! They have SO many stores you are going to find a bunch if you shop online for the holidays. Click here to join free: http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=y%2B2MF9xlQukP76SLXgnBMw%3D%3D

Last Christmas I snagged over 100 bucks in rebates just by going thru their site first. WOOT!

Ok, so with all that finally being said - guess what I have coming up? My very first SEWING project - look out boys and girls! You are going to be amazed and in awe. You know, cause making jewelry and paper crafting wasn't enough - I had to add sewing. I wish I would master something before starting something else but it's a curse adults with ADD have to deal with. Sigh....

So here are a few cute cards for you. I used a bunch of techniques. From the rolling sew easy stamp thingy, to punching with the piercing tool, stamping, edging with decorative scissors and using washi tape or ribbon. You can click the photo to enlarge it. I even matched the envelopes.

Have a fantastic Thanksgiving and I'll see you all over the weekend with some fun Christmas Projects!
If you like Fajita's, you are going to love this!

Crockpot Fajita's

Onion
Green Pepper
Fajita Seasoning or Fajita Seasoning Packet
4 Chicken Breasts boneless skinless, or Chicken tenders
1/4 cup of chicken broth
All your fixins for Fajitas (tortillas, cheese, lettuce, sourcream, etc)

If you use FROZEN chicken for this, you do not need chicken broth. If you thaw them first, use the broth. If no broth on hand - just had a lil water to thawed Chicken.

So, cut up your Onions and Peppers and place in bottom of your crock pot (as many or little as you want)
Place chicken on top of that. Pour in the chicken broth and then sprinkle on the Fajita Seasoning (or seasoning packet)
Turn your crock pot on medium for 6 hours, high for 3 hours.

Your house will smell amazing. Simply amazing! When the chicken is done, simply use two forks to shred it (it will shred very easily) and that's it. As you can see from the photo, I served it in a bowl with the onions and peppers on top.

I have a friend going thru Cancer right now so I doubled the recipe. I put half in a zip lock bag and then stopped at the store on the way to her house. I picked up a package of wheat tortillas, a package of shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, a tomato (fat juicy one) and a container of sour cream and delivered it. She and her husband enjoyed it and she didn't have to do anything but heat it up.

I'm going to dry this with beef strips as well and will let you know how it turned out.

I hope you enjoyed this, please let me know if you make this and if you liked it as much as we did :)

Hope you are having a great week. The holidays are coming fast YIPES! My daughter and I are sitting here watching spooky stuff and I figured I'd get this post done before I go to bed.

One of our friends had a birthday this weekend. He is a die hard Baltimore Ravens Fan. I have been wanting to do something like this for him for awhile but needed an excuse. We hang out with he and his wife quite a bit - normally it's the guys on the deck watching football games while the girls hang out inside discussing girly things. Usually there are other couples with us - we all graduated in the 80's from the local High School so it's fun to hang out after all these years. There are a lot of "Remember when" conversations. The more drinking, the funnier the conversations (and more embellished lol)

So I started off with the intention of cutting this out with vinyl and putting it on the glass:

People lemme tell ya - this was a NIGHTMARE. What was I thinking? I didn't have an SVG and I wasn't quite sure how to convert properly to svg. Every time I tried I'd only get one big cut, not individual. So, I put my thinking cap on (after I found it, it was behind a dresser, full of dust, cat hair and bad memories) and I cut this puppy out on every color I needed. Then I tried to piece it together like you would a puzzle. Ohhhhh no. I screamed like you would not believe. I threw stuff (not really, I like my stuff) and my son kept saying "You can do it!" but no, no I couldn't. I finally gave up after ruining a LOT of vinyl. (I have no more gold, don't ask me to make anything with gold. Or purple for that matter)

So, I decided on a Raven Head. Not simple, but oh so much easier considering I had an actual SVG and I really only had to ungroup it all and put it on the cutting mat the way I need to arrange it. But even that I had to do twice because I didn't get the layering right. Oh it cut correctly, I did not place it correctly. Sigh...

So I got the glass block for 5 bucks at one of the craft Giants... AC Moore I think. Sale of course. I got the purple lights at a local Ravens shop. The ribbon I had on hand. I have a wife purple ribbon then I glued down a black ribbon and actually glued it on the bottom after placing it all the way around. The top ribbon is just a mock bow, and then a bottle cap on top with the originally logo I wanted to create. Tim loved it and immediately put it under his tv they have on the enclosed deck.

Mr. Krazy and I are Green Bay Packer Fans. They were playing at 4pm yesterday so our intent was to watch them after the Ravens game at Tim & Karens. However, Chicago had all those horrible storms so the game was delayed a few hours. This is me and Allen on the couch, alone, watching the Packers while the rest of the gang was on the back deck watching the Ravens LOL. Both teams lost but we still had loads of fun, plenty of food and drink and loads of laughter. My friend Dawn made the hats for us. She custom makes them so if you are interested shoot me an email and I'll get you in touch :)

Oh one last thing - I told everyone at the Birthday Party "No, I will not do a custom order of this glass block - none of you can afford what I would charge. None of your friends can afford what I'd charge. Bill Gates estate can not afford what I would charge to do another one of these. Ever.

See ya next time!

Hugs and Happiness!
Come and see what's new!
Kricut Krazyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01583473563758680598noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3491163114297557065.post-12750550187702390262013-11-15T01:17:00.000-05:002013-11-15T01:17:00.076-05:00Vinyl Cups, my Tee-ma necklace and meet the kids!Hi Krazies - yeah, I misspelled it yesterday, I wrote Krazys. But I'm not changing it. Why? Because I'm lazy like that. It's how I roll.

So let me show you a vinyl project I did last month for my great-nephew Jaxon who is going through a Firetruck phase. But first I have to tell you a story. When Amanda was 3 (she's now 22) we were at a county fair and strolling around. A fire truck was there with fireman hanging out and letting kids climb all over, explore, toot the horn, etc. A fireman says "Hey kids, wanna come check out the firetruck?" to which my baby Amanda replies "No thank you Mister. My Uncle Brian gots one and we seed it already a lots" LOL That tickles me to this day. Ok moving on.

So I got these fun cups at the Dollar Tree one day. I kinda wish I had picked up more but I got one in each color. It has a flip top and a straw pops out, a cord for them to hang around their necks (not sure that's a super idea...) and a cup on the bottom that you can put a handful of snacks in for the toddler in your life.

Something with only a layer or three - nothing complicated. I'm talking I looked ALL over. I found this one. Where? Oh, just hanging out in a folder on my laptop titled "SVG's" and in a sub folder called "Firetruck" Yeah, I am not that bright. Anyway - I cut them out on the Cameo first using paper to make sure that I could piece it together correctly. Once I got the sizing correct, I cut it out with vinyl. Let me tell you, that ladder was almost torn in half by my patience and nerves. You would think it would 'hang' at the top, but NOOOOOO. I also made the Jaxon name thingy ma bobber in Cameo's software. I offset the background and matched the colors. Easy Peasy fresh and squeezy. I have not asked my niece about Jaxon's reaction. Mainly because I have the memory of a gold fish (3 seconds) and forget to ask her. She has a very active toddler (aforementioned Jaxon) and his sibling is growing in her belly now. She has her hands full. (better her than me HA!)

Here for your pleasure (ahem) is my Teema necklace I put together for myself. Problems I have right off the bat are the crystals are too small. They are the girls birthstones and I thought it would look dainty and cute. But no, it looks cheesy. But that's ok, cause I'm cheesy. Anyway, just wanted to share this cause I knew y'all would just rave on and on about it and share it with your friends and on pinterest and then tons of people would contact me wanting to know how they could get one and then I'd be busy making them and getting rich and going on cruises and vacays and......<snaps it="" of="" out=""> Where was I? Oh, just thought I'd have something else for you to gawk at. Here ya go. I can't stop making these silly things. Maybe one day I'll actually do a good job!</snaps>
EVER. #1, I did not touch it up in any way (clearly). #2, they all hate it and #3 You can see the lovely water stain on the drop ceiling behind them, you can see red eyes, and diamond eyes. My girls (Amanda left, Krys Right) are smiling like dorks (their words not mine) and Matthew looks like... well, we aren't sure. He wanted to hold a cat because he felt lonesome. But we wouldn't let him LOL. This was taken at a TWD family get together (The Walking Dead, jeeze people, follow along!) Again, don't tell them. If you see them, and you tell them, I will do something drastic. I don't know what, but I will. Since none of them every go to my blog I should be safe. However, some of my family and friends occasionally pop on here. DO NOT TELL.

Here on the left is our miracle. Ragan was 8 months old yesterday. On the right our lil angel Julianna was 4 months on the 3rd. I don't normally shove them in the activity mat and start snapping pictures, but they were holding hands and talking to each other and well, I just had to. Aren't they the cutest? I LOVE kissing all over these babies. I realize that they look the same age. Ragan had a rough start by spending 2 months in Pediatric Intensive care, 6 weeks of that was in a coma so they tell us she will naturally be about 2 months behind other babies. She should catch up by 1 or 2 years. Julianna has been on track with everything so we are starting to notice the difference with Ragan now. Either way - we are blessed beyond measure to have these beautiful, happy, healthy little girls in our lives.

That's it for now - hope to have the winners announced in the next day or two. Truth is, I'm stretched out on my couch with the laptop and not IN the craft room to take photos and choose winners and such.

Come and see what's new!
Kricut Krazyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01583473563758680598noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3491163114297557065.post-15908517409093511282013-11-14T00:41:00.001-05:002013-11-14T00:41:38.902-05:00Where in the world is Kricut Krazy?Hey there Krazys!

So yeah, I had all these big plans. Blog post every day or two, blog candy (I haven't forgotten the stamp candy) Recipes, Projects, Jewelry, etc, etc, etc.

What happened? Well, life. As a lot of you know, I take care of my mom who has Parkinson's. We have good days, we have bad days. Lately we've been having a lot of 'falling down' days. We've had 2 ER visits in the middle of the night and one fun night when she fell hitting her head on the deacon bench in her room. At 4 am. I did not find out about it for several hours, by then I was in full panic mode and sure she had a skull fracture. Turns out, a scrape about 2" long across the base of her skull that bled like she had been hit with a hatchet. Thankfully, other than a headache and a huge mess to clean up, mom is doing fine. What a scare that was!

Anyone following my saga knows that mom's regular night attendant had a massive stroke last year. This broke mom's heart as Betty was nothing short of her best friend and angel. Betty lost a lot, her husband died a few months after her stroke, she lost her home, etc. It's sad and mom misses her dearly (as do I). I hired a gal Elizabeth from Kenya who was to be a live in. She lasted about 8 weeks. One day I walked into the hallway to hear her scolding my mother for needing help standing off the toilet. She was terminated on the spot and we haven't had anyone since. Until now. Enter Josie. Josie is my nephews grand-mom on his mothers side. She has been coming over from 7p to 7a for a week now and things are SO much more stable and relaxed. She is heaven sent for sure.

So, moving forward (as if anyone is still listening at this point, yawn-fest I know) It's TWD season. The Walking Dead my friends. Zombies and Rick, Darrell and Michone. We are a family addicted. So every Sunday Krystina shows up around 11am with Nick and their baby Ragan. In the afternoon Matthew strolls in, and in the early evening Amanda, Brandon and their baby Julianna skate in. It's a family affair. The last few weekends Krystina has decided to spend an extra night. Then an extra 2 nights. Then my week is shot. I can't get enough of Ragan and Julianna (Grand-parenting is the best isn't it?) so I'm not complaining.

I finally <strike>got rid of</strike>.........took Krys back home today. Told hubby and mom at dinner tonite that I was excited because I had my house back and I was going to clean up the craft room (which has a massive collection of various jewelry findings, beads, stones and glue all over the desk) and get ready for the holidays by working on tons of projects. Everything from cards (duh) to 3d items, ornaments, vinyl projects (got me a few of those big ole glass blocks you put lights in) to treat bags and more. I was SO excited to get a good nights sleep and dive right in.

Oh the plans I had. First, clean up and reorganize, that should take the better part of the morning. In the afternoon I was creating a blog plan. A post for every day. We were having a Recipe day, a jewelry day. a Cricut day, a Cameo Day and a few whatever goes days. I was going to have everything done by Sunday so posting could start and be scheduled. You know, work smarter not harder and all that jazz.

What happened you ask? (of course you don't ask, you have fallen asleep at your keyboard and cracked your forehead on the space bar, but I have to keep going, because one day when I'm super famous, people will be looking for drivel like this and I will be TOTALLY prepared) Because after dinner, Mr. Krazy and I were relaxin and fixin to watch some Revolution, the Middle, Modern Family, etc. and my phone rings. It's my baby girl. "Mommy? can you watch Julianna tomorrow (4 month old lil love-bug)? Brandon has a 12-14 hour day ahead of him and I have the chance to get more hours but we're stuck" OF COURSE I said yes... what kinda Teema would I be? <dramatic eye="" roll=""></dramatic>

So, I will try to get some things done around Jule's and her nap time. Amanda picks her up about 3:30 and I have to get dinner on the table and out the door for bowling league so I will resume my big plans of Blog domination on Friday. I hope.

For those of you hanging on and waiting for something to happen, waiting for the cobwebs to be swept away, waiting for some inspiration, a few laughs and a prize or two, you WILL be rewarded...eventually. For those of you that have given up and are muttering "Kricut Krazy? Who the heck is that?" I don't blame you one bit.

I've missed you all - and I will getcha back. Even if I have to bribe you (and I probably will)

xoxo
I've been working hard to revamp Kricut Krazy - not the look, but the content. I have tons of things in store for you in the coming weeks. I look forward to lots of feedback and you guys can look forward to Tutorials, Reviews of tools/supplies, Jewelry Making, Paper Crafting, Stamping (cause you all just LOVE when I get my hands all inky!) and if there is a video, there will be photos to go along with it for people who don't wish to hear me drone on and on about stuff. Yes, I know everyone loves my voice and my babbling... but you know, just in case :)

I leave you with my latest project. A cute little personalized bracelet for my friend Darlene who just had a birthday. This was SUPER easy. The little charms are 9mm flat round blanks I purchased on ebay. They are actually nickle plated but look like an antique gold in the photo. (I'm working on my photo taking skills...sigh) I simply stamped the initials on them with a metal stamping alphabet, then went over the impression with a black Sharpee Marker. I then dabbed a paper towel with Staz On Remover and wiped across the little blanks so you could only see the dark letters. D & S (Darlene & Steve) are on ONE link as they are the mom and dad, and their kids are on individual links. I also added the "Love" charm that I purchased from Fire Mountain Gems. The infinity link was purchased on ebay as well. I was so happy with out this turned out as was Darlene! Great gift for new Mom's or new Families.

These are the first bracelets I ever did. One for my niece, with her husbands initial and their son's initial. (They have another little one on the way and I will add that initial when we know his or her name) The other bracelet was for my daughter Amanda, her fiance Brandon and my grand daughter Julianna. I purchased the bracelets on etsy already made, but I didn't like the infinity link as it was a bit cheesy, so I replaced my own infinity links and tossed the ucky ones. What do you think? No video as I was nearly blind after closing those tiny links. No kidding, I actually got a headache because they are SO tiny.

Tomorrow I will show you a coupla vinyl projects I've been working on and later in the week we (as if there is more than just me) have some great Desk Organizers made with the Cameo! I am REALLY loving my Cameo but I gotta tell ya, still loving my Cricut. Thinking about selling the Pazzles and all the extra's I have with it (blades, pen holder, engraving tool, gem stuff, I think I own just about everything) I just find that I'm not using it as much as the Cameo and Cricut.

Want some blog candy? How about a couple of Cling Stamp sets from Michaels? I'll post photos of those later in the week. Here's what ya gotta do to get them:

1. Be a follower
2. Leave a message and answer the following questions:
a) How would you feel if I added a "Recipe Day" to the blog once a week or two?
b) What do you think of the jewelry posts?
c) which cutter do you use most often?

That's it :) I will draw a winner from the comments next Sunday and announce the winner on Mondays post.

I hope to have a giveaway once a week - altho they may be small. Who doesn't love free stuff?

Here is a 4x4 ceramic tile from Home Depo (44 cents) and a photo of my grand-daughter and her two cousins (dad's side) that I made for Ragan's other grandmom. I simply printed it out on Tissue Paper (regular tissue paper, cut down to 8.5x11) I use a glue stick to adhere the tissue paper to regular printer paper. If you run it through on it's own the ink saturates it and creates a huge mess. Trust me on this one people. Anyway, I then spread Modge Podge Matt onto the tile, carefully laid the tissue photo on top, smoothed it out and then spread modge podge on top of that. Let it dry overnight, then today put 4 little pads on the bottom so it won't scratch whatever it sits on.

I did the same instructions above for this 8x10 canvas. You can't see but I just took ribbon and stapled it to the back so it can be hung.

This one is my attempt at being creative - it looks HORRIBLE (go ahead, admit it, I already know) I attempted to tear the tissue edges and then used a dauber and some CTMH ink around the edges. The result? BLAH. Seriously, it looks 100x worse in person. But hey, I tried something new and that was the result - so... I will probably try again sometime.

Please leave me a comment letting me know what you think!
What are you up to? I can't wait to next week when I get my CTMH cartridge - I'll be showing ya lots of fun stuff from there!

Some of you have asked about Ragan - thank you SO much - she is doing BEAUTIFULLY and is almost 6 months old! Her cousin Julianna arrived on July 3rd and is also doing wonderful. Both my girls are now mommies! That blows my mind! Our son Matt gave us quite a scare last week. He moved back to Maryland a few weeks ago and while driving to see one of his sisters, he took an exit off the highway a little too fast and flipped his car a few times. Thankfully he is ok minus 7 staples in his head, nasty bruises, bumps and muscle strains, etc. he totaled his car but we really could care less about the car (obviously).

That's our wee lil Ragan (Jelly Bean) on the right! Some of you remember when she was just 4 pounds and in a drug induced coma. Now she is super happy and thriving! On the left is our lil Julianna (Juju Bee)who came into the world a healthy 8.2 pounds! Both babies are doing wonderfully thanks so much!

Oh and we don't want Matthew slighted so here is a pic of his car (the other side in the front is gone (tire and all) Thankful to God that he is ok.

So, onto the cards. As some of you know, I take care of my mom who has Parkinsons. She always asks me to make a card for this or that to send various family members and friends. I finally sat down and made her 15 of them. I was going through my pre-cut cards looking for certain colors when I came across this kit I had NO idea that I had!. I'm not even sure who made them but they were window cards with stickers you affix yourself. Then I dug thru my stamps and such to find some sentiments and tried to figure out how to make it simple for her to mix and match. Enter the Curly Label die and border set from Jaded Blossom

It was quite simple to use! I just ran it thru my cuddlebug with standard plates, nothing fancy. I was even able to cut thru 2 pieces of card stock at a time. Made 20 of them. Then tried to figure out what to do about the sentiments - I have stamps from everywhere (like the rest of you) One of my favorite go to sentiment stamp sets is Simple Sayings also from Jaded Blossom LOVE LOVE LOVE the tree on that stamp set. I chose a few sentiments I thought mom would use and then simply put pop dots on the back and put them all in a zip lock bag for her. She can mix and match and should be ok for a bit before I have to really make her some cards LOL.

You can also see these cards in the video I took the other day (the post below this one)

See you soon with a new project! Comments are ALWAYS welcome so please let me know what you think. The good, the bad and the ugly!

By the way - if anyone knows how I can force my photo stream to update I sure would appreciate it. Seems like it was updating on it's own for a long time. Now I have to send my photos from my iphone right to my email or manually download them. Any tips?

I've missed you all! What a crazy summer it has been. I just kept walking by my craft room and longing to sit down and do something fun. I've dabbled in things over the summer but no real crafty fun day. I've been cooking tons of stuff I find on pinterest (surprisingly most has been a huge hit!) I've tried my hand at washer jewelry - and failed (see photos below) but I'll keep trying.

I didn't realize my phone posted a video I took the other day until I started getting you tube comments and emails LOL So here ya go for those that haven't seen it:

Ok a coupla ya asked about the washer jewelry. I wanted to make them for my daughters. Krystina's would have Ragan Lyn on the large washer and 3/14/2013 on the small washer with a blue stone for March. Amanda's would have Julianna Marie on the large washer and 7/3/2013 on the smaller one along with a red stone for July. Sigh. Why does everything look SO much better in my head than it does when it's finished?

Here for you is what I WANTED: How stinking cute are they? Amazing don't you think?

And here my friends, is what I got. Sigh. First off, can't find those lil gems ANYWHERE. Second, it's a LOT harder to line those letters up than you would think - a pita really. But, I will try again. I vow to try again!
Thought I ran away didn'tcha?Happy Happy Summer my crafty friends!

As you know, we were blessed with our very first grandbaby in March and after 7 weeks in Pediatric Intensive Care she was able to come home. She is now a chubby happy baby and 4.5 months old! SO excited. Krystina took her to the beach last week to help celebrate her Mom Mom Deb's birthday and the baby LOVED it.

On July 3, my youngest daughter and her fiance welcomed Julianna Marie into the world. She was a whopping 8.2oz and Amanda is doing beautifully with being a new mom. Of course it helps that Brandon is a great daddy. They are getting married in September so as you can imagine, our hands are full.

My new thing is cooking. I have been doing A LOT of it. I used to love it but since moving in to help my mom, I just can't get into it with her kitchenware. So a few weeks ago Mr. Kricut went to storage and rooted around until he found my favorite kitchen items, my pampered chef and a lot of other kitchen goodies. Now he's a happy man as I've been cooking every day (and saving a ton from take out!) My crafty sistah Christie Anderson suggests I add a cooking tab to my Kricut blog LOL.

I've also made a few things in the craft room. I've done the Photo Canvas which turned out beautifully, a few hand stamped colored cards and collecting toilet paper rolls for a project I'm thinking of doing. I hope to be doing some crafty blog posts for you this week as I'm starting to get my craft mojo back. My new love is bottle cap stuff LOL..

So if anyone is still out there and checking this blog that you thought was abandoned - I"m back! I hope you missed me as much as I missed you guys!
